Christmas Card

My first Christmas card of the year:

I used Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25 for this card (I'm not obsessed with this set honest, I realised most of the cards I've made so far have been using this frame ;p).  I cut out an apperture using the frame and covered it with acetate.  I used Spellbinders 2012 Christmas dies to cut out the baubles and backed them onto a piece of black card.  I stuck them onto the acetate and used the Cosmic Shimmer 'sparkle' PVA pearls to make the strand for them.

The poinsettia was stamped from Woodware 'Poinsettia Corner' stamp set and coloured using Spectrum Noir pencils.  I added a couple of die cut swirls to around the flower.  Finished off with a sentiment and a few more of the PVA pears in the top and bottom corners of the card.

Play It Again!

This card was made using the House Mouse Gruffies 'Friends Like These' stamp set.  The background is three panels made using a Darice music score embossing folder.  I wiped Black Soot distress ink over the top of the embossing, it turned out a bit more grungy than I would of really liked but still looks ok I think.

I stamped the bear in the middle of the 'waste' piece from the frame of Spellbinders Majestic Lables 25 die set.  I've coloured him in using Spectrum Noir blending pencils.

I added two sentiments, 'Play it again' is from the same stamp set.  Finished off with some handcut and doodled bunting added onto a piece of bakers twine.

Vintage Blossoms

Just a couple of quick cards today made using the 'Vintage Blossoms' sheet from Hunkydory's 'Vintage Journey' card kit.

This one was just a piece of the background card with a border and topper along the top.

Clematis Flourish

I made this card following the sketch for Indigo Blu's challenge blog.  This was the sketch:

I used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink for the background, with a bit of Vintage Photo and Evergreen Bough on the corners to give it a bit more of a 'distressed' look.  I stamped with a bit of bubble wrap in Evergreen Bough on the background for the same effect.

The green piece of card is made using Evergreen Bough Distress Ink with Indigo Blu's 'Floral Swirl' stamp done in gold embossing powder over the top.  The made image is stamped using Indigo Blu's 'Clematis Flourish' stamp which I coloured in using my new favourite craft item, Spectrum Noir blending pencils.  The background of my main image was created on my Gelli plate, it doesn't show up well in the photos but I used Worn Lipstick distress ink with Old Paper over the top, I scrunched up a piece of paper and pressed it into the Gelli plate before taking the Old Paper ink off so it left a bit of a pattern on the card.

I used some Creative Expressions bakers twine tied into a bow at the corner with a flower made from Tonic Petal Pairs punches in the center.  Finally I finished the card with a few pearl gems in the top corner.

Wedding Card

I've missed blogging since I stopped earlier this year so have decided to restart my blog.  I'll start with some of the cards I made over summer, I didn't end up taking pictures of many but I'll share the ones I took photos of.

My sister got married at the end of August, this is the card I made for her:

I used Sheena Douglass' church stamp from her 'A Little Bit Sketchy - Believe' set.  I embossed the church using silver embossing powder.  I used Spellbinders 'Majestic Labels 25' to create a frame to go around the church.  I backed the frame onto some silver Mirri card and cut out the middle so the corners had silver behind.  The swirls are from a Memory Box die.  Finished off with a sentiment from Lili of the Valley.
