Winter Wonderland

I used the free stamps from this month's Creative Stamping magazine to make this card.  I cut out a circle mask to create a moon and then brayered the sky using a mixture of blue and grey inks to make a winter sky. I used the silver birch stamp with silver embossing powder for the trees in the front of the picture and stamped the pine trees in black towards the back.  I added the little deer into the foreground.  I used grey and blue inks again to create some snow drifts to finish of the picture.

I created a frame to go around the picture and stamped over it using a sentiment and snowflake stamp.  Finally I finished off the card with a poinsettia in the corner which is made from Sue WIlson's stamp set and coloured using 'Barn Door' Distress Ink.

40th Birthday Card

I was asked to make a 40th Birthday Card for someone who does triathlons, I think I just about managed it with this card.

I used Graphic 45 'Good Ol' Sport' paper pad for the background of the card and Clarity's 'Sports Kit' stamps to make the topper.  I stamped the big frame stamp in the centre and adapted a couple of the smaller stamps to make the three triathlon sports.  The cyclist was the only stamp I had that fitted the theme so I used the footballer stamp to make the runner, leaving off the football and angling it slightly so it looked like he was crossing the finish line.  The swimmer is also made using the footballer stamp, I just inked the top part of the stamp and added some waves underneath using a black fine line pen, I don't think the angle was quite right on that one but it was the best I could do!

I finished off the card by adding a sentiment and a pinwheel decoration with some bakers twine behind.
